we met at the uni tramping club...DP caught my eye but he was going out with someone else at the time. they broke up and a couple of months later I got a handmade card in the mail asking me out for lunch...old school huh?

that was 9 years ago.

we have had our ups and downs incl a 2 year separation while I was overseas but we never really fell out of love and other people we dated just didn't measure up! we've been back together for 3 years now and we are super super happy...and he is the best father!!!!

Awww..! Clever, too, how likely is anyone to say no to that?

His best friend was my leader at a Horse Camp I went to over the summer when I was 16, we started hanging out (I had a bit of a crush on him) and he introduced me to my (now) Husband. I talked to him a little online to start with and I thought he was really rude! Then I met him in person and pretty much love at first sight! Made him go to a ball with me, best first date ever. Engaged a year later, been married for 3 years and expecting our first in 3 weeks :)
He really is my best friend and the love of my life, some people were sceptical, but luckily we didn't listen to them

Exactly! one of my friends said 'you HAVE to go out with him, romantic men like that need to be encouraged!' lol

the romantic gestures still come out once in a while too

Romantic men like that need to be encouraged - I like it . My DH hasn't a speck of romance, but I like hime anyway. Does your DH do lessons, perhaps?

Yea - a mutual (older) friend of both DH and me called him up to let him know he had serious concerns about DH marrying me, that I wasn't mature enough, etc etc. Rather glad he didn't listen to him, we've been happily married for six years now and still going strong

naw so many cute as stories in here!

mine? we met in a pub. DH doesn't even remember meeting me... he was just a lil toasted ;) he insisted on coming home with me even though i said i was going home to bed - my single bed - to go to sleep cos i had work in the morning.

so we went back to my place, wedged ourselves into my single bed and went to sleep. funny boy. 4 and a half years later we're still going strong still giggle at the image of him cramming his 6 ft 5 self into the corner of my bed mwahaha
