Wow. I'm impressed.. I can hardly even sew a button on
I have a sewing pile though!
DH's jeans have been on the 'sewing pile' for months now. He just keeps wearing them, throwing them in the wash, then they go back on the pile. And the pocket is still falling apart on them... Soon, they'll be beyond repair (if they aren't already) and we'll have to buy him a new pair...
This must be a gene I am missing? A sewing gene?

I knitted Nathan a newborn cardigan and I'm currently knitting him a wool singlet. Wish I could sew - would love to be able to do more. How do you find the time!? What you've done looks amazing - well done!

Wow those things are awesome! I've made all Chelsea's nappies, wipes, 5 sleepsacks (4 from pillowcases, which she no longer fits lol, and one larger merino one - pekemoe style), a zebra costume for a dressup party, umm oh and I have some flanelette fabric to attempt to make some PJs for her, but am still trying to figure out how to do the elastic for the pants before I start coz don't want to stuff it up! Oh and I made her a toy when she was younger out of a buscuit tray with random bits of material around it Oh and reversible dress (when she was younger too)
Now to find pictures...
Reversible dress side 1
side 2
Asleep in one of her pillowcase sleepsacks
zebra costume (she's the one in the pool - hehe a bit weird but it did the trick!)
merino sleepsack, still fits her
will have to take a pic of all her nappies later after they've been washed

Wow Rachel love what you have done. I was wanting to make some nappies for Oliver as well but then i brought some 'real nappies' now i kinda don't need any more. But i think i might get some PUL and make pretty (hmm hes a boy so maybe pretty is the wrong word) covers for them cos white is a bit plain. If hes gonna be in cloth i want it colorful lol.
with the elastic just fold over the top of the pants 1.5cm and then fold over about 2 or 3 cm depending on the width of the elastic, sew around that but leave a bit where you can thread the elastic through. then get a nappy pin and pin it to the elastic and use that to thread it through the tube (way easier than trying to thread the plain elastic). when it is right through sew the ends together then sew up the bit where you left the gap to thread the elastic and your done.
I did most of that yesterday when Oliver was sleeping or on his playmat. I am lucky to have a pretty good sleeping little boy.
I have been thinking of getting into knitting, i want to knit some booties.

I have made 3 stuffed felt toys, a snake, giraffe and an awesome butterfly. I would put a picture up to show as they are awesome (if I am allowed to say so myself) but I have no idea how to do the picture thing... Can someone help?

RE photos from the FAQ thread:
How do I post pictures?
First you will need to upload the pictures somewhere else on the internet. Try for example Photobucket, Flickr, or your Facebook account if you have one. Some of the photo sharing sites (including Photobucket) will provide IMG code for you to copy and paste. Otherwise you can post any pic from anywhere on the internet by right clicking on the picture, selecting ‘Properties’, copying the address details that come up, then use the little button with a pic of a tree on it to the top right of the ‘post reply’ box to paste those address details. (Or simply enclose the address between [ IMG ] and [ / IMG ], without the spaces.)
You can test that you've entered the right code by clicking on 'Preview Post' before you post your reply.

*ears perk up* trackpants thread?? Oooh where can I find that?? Search function won't work so could someone bump it for me??
I've made Jakes duvet cover and am making both boys winter weight sleeping bags, merino outfits, sweaters and trackies. I 'made' big cotton swaddles for Ty but since it was just buy and cut I don't know if that counts. Will post pics when I'm done.

Such talent here!!!
I did these paintings when I was 38 weeks preg with Jackson:
I also made some blankets, but they were pretty rubbish! Not a friend of the sewing machine unfortunately.
