Topic: ARGH! To know or not to know??!! Posted: 01 February 2008 at 9:28pm |
I really, really don't want to find out if wee Iggle Piggle is really an Iggle Piggle or in fact an Upsy Daisy, but Willie does want to know. I reckon it would be nice to have a surprise on the big day since it's our last baby, he reckons he's too old for surprises and what do we gain by waiting.
Help! What do I do? I mean, I know at the end of the day it's up to me coz he won't even be at the scan, but is he right, is there no point in waiting?
In my defence, I have to have scans at 32 and 37 weeks so if I don't find out at the 19 week scan we do get other opportunities, but I just don't wanna know!

I'm with you Emma. It's such a nice surprise at the end. I didn't find out with my two but was sure I knew what they were (and I was right both times). Personal choice though.

I suspect it's a blue one, have from the beginning. But I am totally OK with waiting, it won't drive me nuts at all.
I could always tell him they couldn't see...
But then if I did find out, think of all the nappies I could buy!!
ARGH!

I think I would have to agree with most of the other girls and would find out but that's just my personal preference! I am soooooo looking forward to finding out at my next scan but don't know how I am going to keep it a secret from my family as they want me to keep it a surprise from them.

I'm with you Emma - don't find out! This will probably be our last too, so I'm feeling the same way, I want to have the experience of a surprise. I don't reckon you gain much either way really, totally personal preference. Would Willie be able to keep it to himself if you got the technician to write it down in a sealed envelope to give to Willie?

I didn't find out with Andrew and it drove me nuts. But when I have my next one i'm still not sure if I want to know either.

Noooo don't!!! Those last few weeks are so exciting when you don't know. It's like being a kid at christmas again! I didn't find out with the first two and won't with this one either. If you like you could get them to write it down on a bit of paper, put it in an envelope and give it to willie, that way you don't have to know but he can. Just make him swear not to tell you! i love surprise's and baby surprises are the best!!!!

I say don't find out. We didn't find out with jack and it was a lovely surprise especially as I was expecting a girl - all first babies in our family are girls.
Tony wanted to find out and I told him that as I was doing all the work it was my choice!! :)
