I really, really don't want to find out if wee Iggle Piggle is really an Iggle Piggle or in fact an Upsy Daisy, but Willie does want to know. I reckon it would be nice to have a surprise on the big day since it's our last baby, he reckons he's too old for surprises and what do we gain by waiting.
Help! What do I do? I mean, I know at the end of the day it's up to me coz he won't even be at the scan, but is he right, is there no point in waiting?
In my defence, I have to have scans at 32 and 37 weeks so if I don't find out at the 19 week scan we do get other opportunities, but I just don't wanna know!

I'm with you Emma. It's such a nice surprise at the end. I didn't find out with my two but was sure I knew what they were (and I was right both times). Personal choice though.

I suspect it's a blue one, have from the beginning. But I am totally OK with waiting, it won't drive me nuts at all.
I could always tell him they couldn't see...
But then if I did find out, think of all the nappies I could buy!!
ARGH!

I think I would have to agree with most of the other girls and would find out but that's just my personal preference! I am soooooo looking forward to finding out at my next scan but don't know how I am going to keep it a secret from my family as they want me to keep it a surprise from them.

I'm with you Emma - don't find out! This will probably be our last too, so I'm feeling the same way, I want to have the experience of a surprise. I don't reckon you gain much either way really, totally personal preference. Would Willie be able to keep it to himself if you got the technician to write it down in a sealed envelope to give to Willie?

Noooo don't!!! Those last few weeks are so exciting when you don't know. It's like being a kid at christmas again! I didn't find out with the first two and won't with this one either. If you like you could get them to write it down on a bit of paper, put it in an envelope and give it to willie, that way you don't have to know but he can. Just make him swear not to tell you! i love surprise's and baby surprises are the best!!!!

I say don't find out. We didn't find out with jack and it was a lovely surprise especially as I was expecting a girl - all first babies in our family are girls.
Tony wanted to find out and I told him that as I was doing all the work it was my choice!! :)

Good luck with deciding!

With my son I didn't find out so the surprise was lovely but then I always thought I was having a boy.

If we are lucky enough to have another then I would be tempted to find out cause I would have alot of fun shopping for the baby

But I think it really is a personal choice and I would wait if you are looking forward to the surprise.

Wait and see you may change your mind before your next scan.
If Willie really wants to know he'll have to come along to one of your scans with you.

I really wanted to find out, DH didn't and in the end she made the choice for us by crossing her legs! But even though I wanted to know, it was such a lovely surprise!! I don't think we'll find out next time. I agree with Fleury, I would wait for the next scan too

I agree with Fleury - wait for the next scan and see what the feelings are then.

We both wanted to know so that made it easier. DH kept saying it was a boy and the scan confirmed it but I will want to have it checked again at the next scan with the first one being early.

I would do what you want Emma. If Willy won't be there, just tell him that they looked but legs were crossed
I personally couldn't do it though - far too nosey here   (Also maybe because I am a complete shop-a-holic)

I think since you really dont want to find out you shouldnt and if Willie has a prob with it tell him he can find out at the scan when HE is pregnant , haha, or just tell him the legs were crossed

I'd find out, but that's just me!

If you want to wait for the surprise, then wait. If you wouldn't mind Wille knowing (and he wouldn't taunt you with it!) then maybe get them to write it down and pop it in an envelope. Though the temptation will then be there for you! So maybe get them to do it at a later scan ...

P.S. Though personally I quite liked the surprise thing. And if you have found out with previous pregnancies then it might be nice to experience the other side

Could you get them to write it down for Willie?

Personally I think the surprise is more than it's worth haha I'm far too impatient and I like to find out when I'm 'with it' (ex drugs or labour!)

We didnt find out with Hannah and it was great to have that little extra incentive at the end of labour, to find out what it was. This time we did find out tho and it has been great as well being second time around. If I was you I would wait and see how you feel later on, esp cos you found out with the others.

Don't find out. I wanted to all the way through but DH didn't.When I had to have an elective C the birthdate wasn't going to be a surprise so I was glad that there was one unknown there.

We're taking turns. I wanted to know but DH didn't so we found out with Michaela at 20 weeks but next one we'll wait till it's here. I'm kind of excited about it being a secret now (ok, that's a bit weird since I'm not pregnant but hey) the first time round everything was new but now I'm an old hand at this (LOL) it'll be nice to leave the babies sex as a mystery.

One thing I hated about finding out was the number of people who felt they had the right to tell me I shouldn't have found out and I should have kept it a surpise "um, excuse me, it was a surprise when we found out and mind your own business."

My SIL found out with hers kids. She had a son by her first hubby and 2 girls by her current DH and then they were told at 3 scans they were having another girl so when their son asked if it was a boy could he name it they said sure.

What a suprise they got when their 4th child turned out to be a little boy. He wore pink for several months (and was almost named Michael Jordon but they managed to get the name shortened to Jordon).
