Topic: arrrgghhh good news not so good news Posted: 04 April 2008 at 1:55pm |
Well had my scan this morning...couldnt see anything so had to have an internal....
the good news is there is a heartbeat...the bad news is that im only measuring about 4 wks and there is no fetal pole or yolk sack
I dont know what to think
i was told to expect the worst but hope for the best
and ive had no contact from the ob for almost 2 wks, so my so called close monitoring has really sucked

That doesn't make sense? How can there be a heertbeat without a fetal pole?
Big hugs Kaz, hope you hear back from the doc soon!

How confusing Kaz. That is all you need.
The heartbeat is a good sign surely?
I can't believe they have just left you like this now not knowing what is properly going on?
Can you ring your midwife? Or someone to ask questions.
Big hugs. Thinking of you.

Kazzle that is so confusing you wouldn't be able to see the heartbeat if you were only 4 weeks along
Lots of hugs and prayers that everything will be okay

How annoying and worrying for you to get such a confusing result. Are you able to speak to anyone today before you go away?

I agree with Emma - surely if there is a heartbeat then surely there would be a pole? And I also agree with Jess, I would be getting a second opinion.
Big hugs - fingers, legs and toes crossed for you.

I get a second opinion aswell Kaz, that doesnt make sense....you cant see a heartbeat at 4 weeks....and If theres a heartbeat there should be a fetal pole...
Heartbeat is good news, so hopefully you just had someone who didnt scan you very well....did you see the heartbeat ur self flicking away on the screen?

I would also get a second opinion and then at least put your mind at ease.

Ahh Kaz, hope you get some answers to clear up this confusion, I know this may sound ridiculous but try and relax on your trip, you can't do anything to change this except relax (As I said I know that is a ridiculous suggestion, who can relax with this much confusion???? )

Thinking of you Kaz. As Redbedrock said try and relax (i know, it's hard to do but there's nothing you can do until you get back and worrying isn't going to help at all).
Take care and keep us up to date.

Big hugs Kaz!
I agree with everyone! Get a second opinion as there can't be a heartbeat without a pole. And a heartbeat at 4 weeks? Who was scanning you? Doogie Howser?
Just as a side this: What I dislike about having scans at a general radiology place is that if there ARE concerns, they just say "Well, this that and the other. See ya".
There's no reassurance or opinion/advice from your GP/MW/OB etc... So you have no idea where you stand until you can get in to see your GP/MW/OB.
My thoughts are with you Kaz
