I have asked about this before but it was awhile ago now and we still are not getting anywhere on the teething front. DD is coming up 15 months and only has her 4 top front teeth.

I am repeatedly told that it is very abnormal that she does not have any bottom teeth. To be honest I have not let it get to me until now, I am starting to wonder if I should be worried?

Anyone else have late teethers with no bottom teeth at over a year old?

Has Heidi had her first check up at a dental nurse? Was there any concern there? Is it professionals telling you it's "abnormal" or "well meaning" others?

Rhys has 8 teeth, but only has the two middle ones on the bottom and they were his first teeth at 7 months.
One of my brothers friends DD didn't have any teeth at all at 12/13 months, but they're coming through fine now.
I sure she will be fine

Hi Debs, no she has not had her first check up with a dental nurse I think I might get onto that and find out when we can see her. Its the "well meaning" others who are making think I should be worried, and its mainly because there are no bottom teeth.

Thanks for the reply! You must add some recent pics of Rhys to the Dec 08 babies thread I bet he has grown up so much!

At Heidi's age Hannah had her two bottom teeth, and that was it. She then had a spurt and got another 10 in almost 5 months.
She's 25 months tomorrow and has 12 - she hasn't had any new ones in 5 months.
Plunket nurse wasn't worried at all. We're yet to be called for a dental visit, but i've never been told it's anything to worry about.
I hear the "the longer they take the stronger they'll be" often. That's reassuring

yip DS1 got his first two top teeth at 13 months old.
bottom ones came later he's now 2yrs 10mths and has all his teeth. Don't worry they will come and be strong too.! i was a bit worried to   have such a late teether but he didn't have the pain and discomfort as younger babies.
