I searched for this info but couldn't see it - how long can you store fresh breastmilk in the fridge?

I know it's frozen - 3 months, defrosted - 24hrs, but what about fresh?

TIA

I was told the "5 rule":

breast milk is good for: 5hrs at room temp, 5 days in the fridge or 5 months in the freezer

I read somewhere that you could store fresh breastmilk 2 days max in the fridge and 6 hrs at room temp (provided it wasn't too hot a day).

Hhhmm I was told 3 days in the fridge, 4 hours at room temperature, 3 months in a fridge freezer, 6 months in a deep chest freezer! This info was on the b/f sheet given to me at the hospital too!

Oh yay to 5 days - I thought it was 4! But 5 days is much handier.
