I've just had baby number 2 - 31/2 wks ago, so whilst I have 10 kg to loose which I am working on, also the stretchmarks - argh! I also notice my skin seems very stretched. I cant remember it being like this after number one. Does the skin shrink back once I loose the weight, or am I likely to end up with wrinkly saggy skin?? PS I still have a small baby tummy - how long have others tummy's taken to go down...?

Mine is a little saggy. Wasn't after my first but it is now. I think it's a bit of a lost cause for me hoping it might tighten back up

Mine is a wee bit saggy but mainly due to the 10kgs I still have to loose. The stretch marks have faded to almost nothing as I lost weight (lost 10kgs)and the skin has become firmer so I am hopeful! Good luck

Ugh yeah mine is awful - I always say it looks like an arse on my tummy! I guess I have a few kgs to loose but DD was quite overdue, and quite large - and I have stretchmarks for Africa to show for it. I try not to think about it too much but my body shape has certainly changed. Your story give some hope though SpecialK!

Me too unfortunately. I hope it's not gonna be even worse after this baby, but probably likely it will be!

I put on 27kg when preg with DD, I'd lost it all by the time she was 12wks old, plus a few extra kilos, but my stomach is still all saggy baggy and she is now 17 months old! When standing up, it's not noticeable but if I bend over it goes all saggy over the top of my pants, ick! The muscles are definitely tighter but it's like there is just too much skin. I can't seem to do anything to get rid of it! My DD was huge at birth (11lb 8oz) and was 2wks over so I got covered in stretchmarks. They are still there but 10x better than they used to be. At least now they are skin coloured and not purple!!

I put on 23kg with DS, and was back to pre-pregnacy weight by 3 months but not pre-pregnancy size. He too was 2 weeks over and the stretchmarks came in that extra 2 weeks, none before hand and he was 9lb8oz so a bit on the hefty size. My tummy isnt *bad* but like lisajo said if i bed over it tends to pool. I hope the extra skin goes away too. I def still had baby belly for at least 6 weeks after he was born too so give yourself a bit more time

This is me too and I've only had one baby but then again... Since having DD all I have changed is my diet - more healthier and I drink a lot more water now too. I don't exercise much at all really!

Seems strech marks like to arrive on due date even if baby doesn't. I had none untill my due date then ended up with quite a few from then intil she was born 9 days later :(:( i was so gutted thinking i had escaped them. i lost the weight fast but my tummy is still mmmm not flat hahaha! tho it can apear smaller/ almost flat if i wear those tight tummy sucking undies haha. My biggest grr is my hips still are rather wide?? when shall i expect them to fall back in?? thats if they even tho.
Boo to friends of mine that have baby and a few weeks later back in a bikini, no sretchmarks and of course size 6 again and dont look like they even carried a baby!

I definitely wouldn't worry too much yet - very early days!
I put on on about 14kg and lost about 10 within first few weeks, the rest is still there but I figure it wants to stay for now and may help bf.

Tummy is a little bit looser (DF was amused by it the other day ) but feels tighter after regularly doing some 'bridge' exercises recently. Apparently these help the stomach muscle gap go back together, as opposed to sit-ups, which aren't a good idea.

We also walk a lot, and I've started running again...but this was mainly after 2/3 months at least, so I reckon take it easy for a while yet.

My hips are wider too, noticed the other day. Do they go back? I thought it might be part of the deal, hehe.

think your body shape def changes, some people for better some for worse!! My DD is 1month on Mon, I am 1kg over pre baby weight (11kg over pre son weight!!), am back running, gym, cycling etc - but did lots of this pre kids. Def still have a pot belly, bigger all over, wobblier skin, stretch marks etc - so am hoping with lots of hard work, at least the weight will come off, tummy will go and fingers crossed one day I can be one of those women who are better figured post babies!!! Cant see it at the moment though!

My stomach took a while to go back down, definitely longer than four weeks! It LOOKS fine now, but it's not firm like it used to be. Obviously my abs have gone completely but I can't be bothered doing anything about that.

As for hips, I've read different things. Obviously the pelvis widens to accommodate for childbirth, so that is a skeletal change that you can't do too much about. Apparently, it goes back down over time but might never be as it was pre-baby. I personally have noticed that my hips are still a touch wider than they were pre-baby, and I know it's definitely not extra fat making them look that way. So yeah, some people might be stuck with slightly bigger hips!

I work out 7 days a week and exercise does help but my hips are a big wider, my tummy is a hell of a lot smaller but it does have the saggy skin. I'd never be able to wear a bikini

What are bridge exercises?

I have the same trouble with my stomach muscles, with the gap.

So we're all gonna be planking in our living rooms now eh ;)

I have exactly the same - I'm only 54kg, and slim, but my tummy is a mess. I had a natural birth for my daughter who is now 3, and it was fine after that, but my 2nd daughter is now 9 months and she was an elective CS.

If I bend over it all hangs down in like a 'U' shape, and I can make it dance into all sorts of distorted shapes by sucking it in in different places - it's so gross. Am doing ab exercises (Kari Bo; it came in my bounty pack) and hopefully that will help!!
