Hey i would talk again to your Paed and see if you can get them done while in hospital just in case. I completely understand how scary it would be to have to make that decision. I good idea would be to talk to your local immunisation coordinator, they work for the immune advisory centre and would probably be able to give you more time to listen to your worries and give advice and what you should do than yur GP or peadiatrician.
The website is www.immune.org.nz
or you can call 0800 IMMUNE
Sorry, I didn't read all the replies but I was talking to a friend of mine about immunisations and the link to autism just the other day. She had watched a doco about it.
Apparently, autism is linked to heavy metals in a baby's boby/brain. They can recieve the heavy metals via mum while in the womb and other ways but the link with immunisations is that the manufacturers of the vaccines used to use mercury as a preservative in the vaccines. Go figure! They have known for decades it is toxic, so why would they do that, awful!
Anyway, I would have a dicussion with your pead, gp or nurse about it. JoJames suggestion about the call centre is good too.
We are immunising especially at the moment with a whooping cough epidemic looming.
