Baby Lotion Stuff

I've decided to post in this thread and take advantage of all you experienced mums!!
I want to get some baby cleansing stuff for when baby arrives, but I want to get some that is more anti-allergen, gentle, maybe a bit more natural and not too lavender (I love lavender but sometimes it's just over powering), etc. Mainly because when DH was a baby he had quite sensitve skin and also prone to exzema.
Any advice/opions would be great!!

We are in love with soothing naturals. It smells nice and works really well!! It's got rid of all traces of excema from Daniels skin - he use to have it above his eyes and on his legs but its all gone. He only has one tiny spot where all his dribble falls but its keeping it under control and stopping it from getting sore or really dry.

I would say not to use anything for atleast the first few months. We would only use the tiniest bit of the Ecostore shampoo on Sam to begin with - no soap at all. You could always use a wee bit of olive or apricot oil to massage into the babies skin if it gets dry. Stay as natural as possible though.

Now Sam is a bit older we are using the J&J Soothing naturals range which is fantastic! It seems to be doing a great job keeping her excema under control.

We have been using the ecostore baby sleepytime bath, but we dont use soap or body wash on him. We do use the ecostore baby moisturiser for his massage after his bath though, and he smells delicious!!

 

I use nothing on Josh now. He has aqueous cream when his skin gets a bit dry but just water in the bath. Once he starts daycare I will have to do a bit of trial and error with him to see what works for his skin.

Hi Guys, Boy do i have the best answer on this one for everyone! Melaluca! it has changed my life... its a company that sells child/animal safe cleaning, laundry products, vitmans and make-up. My freinds baby had excema all over her body and is now using the lotion and pretty much has no excema, my husband has psorisis on his scalp and the same thing after using there shampoo.

All the laundry products are so soft and beautiful on your cloth diapers and clothes,

Our house has never been so clean and eco freindly its such a great healthy safe environment! Not that i plan on my daughter drinking the dish powder or anything but if she did it would only make her vomit.. .talk about peace of mind and they have this great disinfectent spray you can spray on the toilet or toys etc and it smells like Thyme and is so safe if the baby sucks on the toys sprayed with it.

melaluca is the australian tea tree but I just discovered greenbeans sells organic NZ tea tree oil from manuka and kanuka. It came with a page of suggestions on when to use it and WOW so many uses....washing hair, putting on cuts and grazes, bee stings, psoraisis etc. I bought it to go in the washing maching with the nappies but you could also stick it in the bath water too I guess.

It is lovely and really gentle, I love the house hold stuff, we bought through a friend who was trying to set up a business, but you have to spend a certain amount each month, and it got expensive when we dropped to one wage. I am not a big fan of cleaniong so never really got through that much stuff, the washing detergent is fantastic and lasts forever

i buy the greenbeans ti tree oil too and use it in my washing and in the bath for the kids, once when we got the dreaded nit it was great for that too ... i got put off the australian ti tree when that fuss came out about it giving little boys breasts and they were investigating it.

me too. thats why I was so excited to find NZ tea tree oil
