I shut them in summer and half-shut or shut in winter (different in summer cause it's so bright and hot at times)

Shut at all sleep times here, but no blackout curtains either so it's not pitch black unless it's night time anyway.

We have the curtains open during the day. I wanted Jack to be able to sleep anywhere during the day. I remember when my MIL and FIL came to stay and bought my nephew and they had big problems with his day sleeps as he was used to black out curtains being closed and we don't have them. Plus my Mum said to leave the curtains open during the day and Mum's always know best, don't we!?

Half shut in summer but just day light the rest of the time - Gina sleeps OK with no issues. At daycare, the sleep roon has the curtains shut and she sleeps roughly the same amount of time as she does at home so I guess it makes no difference to her

Used to sleep Chloe with the curtains open all the time, and she was fine... but when she reached about 8 weeks she wasn't sleeping well during the day anymore, and plunket nurse suggested I close them. So now I keep them closed for naps during the day, which has definitely helped, although it's still quite light in the room - just a bit dimmer. So she still knows day sleeps from night sleeps, since she can still see everything during the day.
