Yep, the only formulas that are cows milk protein free are soy and goats (but goats is another story, don't go there either lol!), the Karicare HA has cows milk protein in it but it's modified to make it harder for the immune system to recognise.
But yeah, soys the go till Mon. Good luck! Keep me posted! I worry about all these allergy kids coz sometimes the doctors are a bit clueless! M

No, if he's been OK on the soy so far you should be able to get to MOn, if he does have probs with teh soy tomorrow take him straight up to the hospital ED and demand to see the duty immunology reg.
And it's not your fault! It's just a lil speedbump in the road, once you get him sorted on a formula that works for him, then he'll be A-OK. Two of my girls were allergic to breastmilk even, I beat myself up waaaay too much over that when at the end of the day it doesn't matter how we feed them, it's how we love them that counts.

KA if it makes you feel better Rowan is EBF but currently she's covered in a rash and has eczema under her arm, neck and over her groin which I'm pretty sure is because of something I've eaten - so reactions can happen regardless of formula or EBF. It is hard when you have allergies and you know that your kid has probably got it from you though.
and yay for pretty hair Sounds like you deserve a bit of pampering with DH and DS both unwell at the same time.

LOL I blame Willie and the dodgy half caste blood for my kids allergies, coz I have none, but in reality exczema and allergies are rampant on my side of the family and it's just luck that I personally don't have any

DH and I both have eczema and both of us are intolerant to lactose. So the poor girl didn't stand a chance with our inferior genetic combo Now I'm just trying to figure out what the latest culprit is....

It prob was just hormone spots KA, allergy babies tend to get worse hormone spots as well, Maya's were shocking.

Kawwww, have only just seen all this, how scary. How are you feeling this morning? That sounds like a bad reaction, I didn't realise it had caused him breathing problems as well. Spencer is on the neocate that Emma was talking about. If you don't get any luck with your gp then I can give you the details of the paed we saw (cost $150 cos we went private though). Emma is right though at lot of the health professionals give sh*tty advice cos they don't know enough about it.
(oh and if you need it I have a couple of spare tins of neocate)

Yep Isla had really really bad hormome spots too, lasted about 3 months. They were through her hair, ears and down her neck too.
