Not that I can help but I have heard of EBM milk banks in the US.

Their people are on special diets. But such a good idea.

Wow Fliss what a great friend you are. If I was BF'ing and in AK I would help you out.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Just some additional info on BM for those who are curious!

Breastmilk is a live product and contrary to the restrictive guidelines advised by plunket it lasts much longer refrigerated than the stipulated 24-48hrs. Up to 7 days in the right temps. After storage Breastmilk can actually have less bad bacteria than it intially started with because of the nice little antibodys. Of course still sterilise and once frozen it does lose some of it's awesomeness but when compared to formula it is still better to have breastmilk from another mother. Dr Jack Newman a lactation specialist says that even mothers who smoke or take certain drugs (medical or otherwise) should STILL breastfeed because as a risk assessment breastmilk is a better option than formula. I am not saying wey hey go nuts. No drugs/ciggarettes is still optimal. In saying this, I know that any mum who is moved to donate BM for a worthy cause is extremely unlikely to be the kind of mum who would not sterilise or to smoke knowing the milk is going to a newborn.

Hi wish I could do something from here (Invercargill).  Wondered if there were BM banks but apparently not judging by previous posts.  I have a surplus here from NB to 3 mths.  So if anyone from Invercargill needs help give me a yell.

Just a wee update - bubs is loving the EBM and it helped him out as he was a bit jaundicey. They're now home and have survived the first night there (bit of a shock for the dad!). They've got milk to get through the day and I'm picking more up this afternoon so it will keep them going for a bit. Lammy, your 3L will be MOST appreciated as it will take some pressure off.
