Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd ask in here.
I have a moby wrap but I want to get something more structured.
I want to know whether you prefer a mei tie type carrier or something like an ergo? I was looking at the baby hawk ones on TM as I love the designs.

I have splashed out on an ergo earlier this year and it has been so great. Highly recommend it.

Well after further research I'm thinking manduca mainly because I won't need an infant insert when we eventually have #2.
Anyone know how these compare to a mei tie?

I love both my mei tais and my Manduca, they are both quite adaptable and adjustable in different ways. Sometimes the Manduca is a bit quicker to put on, and DH likes the clips and buckles a bit more than straps to tie.

Thanks HippyMama, I'm wanting something that DP will use as well. He refuses to use my moby, which he calls my sheet! I think I'll go with a manduca, I just wish I could try before I buy.

Where in NZ are you EsmesMum? I can put my feelers out for you if you like and see if I can find one for you to try on via my various babywearing group connections - it is definitely worth trying one first, that said when I loaned one out from Slingbabies it really only confirmed what I had suspected anyway

I ended up just going ahead and buying without first trying and have not regretted it for a second. (In case you can't get hold of one to try first).

Yeah I still can't convince him no matter how many pics I show him
Hippy mama I'm in Waihi but will be in Hamilton for most of the school holidays. I wish I was in Auckland to visit one of your meets!
ETA where would be the best place to buy a Manduca from?

I just ordered a manduca
I'm also making a pouch sling today for in the car so I have something to chuck on for hip carries. Just have to wait until Esme wakes up so I can go and buy fabric!
