A friend has recently had twins and is breastfeeding them both. I've heard about something called Mother's Milk (I think) which is a drink with yeast in it?
Does anyone have the receipe for this and anything else that she could use to help boost her supply if needed?
1 cup full cream milk
1/2 cup acidophyllis yoghurt
1 Tablespoon complan powder (or milk powder)
1 banana
honey
1 tsp yeast flakes
+/- ice cream
Mix in a blender makes 3-4 cups
drink over the day
The yeast flakes are what increase the "supply" but for anyone out there who wants to increase the "quality" of their milk then use the recipe without the yeast.
also there is a recipe for lactation cookies in the recipies section....
You can also buy maternity teas that have fenugreek in them and a supplement called milk flow which is suppose to help.
Some midwifes recommend drinking complan as well cos it can be hard to eat enough at first.
