A friend has recently had twins and is breastfeeding them both. I've heard about something called Mother's Milk (I think) which is a drink with yeast in it?

Does anyone have the receipe for this and anything else that she could use to help boost her supply if needed?

bananas and nuts and water are all things that are good for supply as well. brewers yeast too apparently.

tigers milk...

1 cup full cream milk
1/2 cup acidophyllis yoghurt
1 Tablespoon complan powder (or milk powder)
1 banana
honey
1 tsp yeast flakes
+/- ice cream
Mix in a blender makes 3-4 cups
drink over the day

The yeast flakes are what increase the "supply" but for anyone out there who wants to increase the "quality" of their milk then use the recipe without the yeast.

also there is a recipe for lactation cookies in the recipies section....

You can also buy maternity teas that have fenugreek in them and a supplement called milk flow which is suppose to help.
Some midwifes recommend drinking complan as well cos it can be hard to eat enough at first.

Thanks Bizzy - that site is great! Tigers Milk - now I remember.

She's doing really well and so are the babies. I might make a batch of the cookes for her. Will pass on the recipes.

I notice the fenugreek tablets are good for healing the stomach and intestines - would that help with a caesarian delivery?

possibly, I took arnica though to help with healing. I healed really well, but couldn't tell you whether that was luck or the arnica.
