Had my bloodtest today - HCG's at over 950 and progesterone at 127, so things appear to be progressing well! Scan on around the 3rd of Jan, so not long to wait.

I had another bloodtest this morning, so fingers crossed that my hCG's are still rising nicely. Scan is booked for the 3rd of Jan - I can't wait so that this finally feels real!

Hi Lulu
I am new to the forum so I missed this thread completely. I've just started my first IVF cycle last week and Noodle told me that yours was successful first time. That is so good to hear! Gives me lots of hope. I wish you all the best for next month (that's when you're due, aren't you?) and look forward to hearing about your little miracle on this forum soon!

Hi Evolsen, yup I was lucky enough to have a successful IVF cycle first time around. I hope that the same happens for you! I am having my baby on the 9th August by elective c-section as she is breech and big, so the obstetrician thinks it's unlikely she will turn. I can't wait to meet her! I will cross all my fingers and toes for you Evolsen, keep us posted as to your progress!

Hi there ladies, could you please tell me what your situation has to be to be publicly funded ivf?
Do you have to be a certain weight? age? trying for a certain amount of time?

Thanks Trish!
Wishin41 - this is the info from Fertility Associates website:
Public Funding Eligibility
The scoring system for public funding of fertility treatment combines points from objective criteria related to the chance of pregnancy (prognosis without treatment, woman’s age, FSH level, smoking) and points from social criteria (duration of infertility, previous children, voluntary sterilisation). The Ministry of Health has set the threshold at 65 points.
Typical scenarios, which gain a score of at least 65, include:
A couple with severe infertility, no children, who have been trying for a year or more
A couple with unexplained infertility who have been trying for five years
A couple with severe infertility, one child from a previous private treatment, who have been trying for at least three years
A lesbian couple where the woman wanting to become pregnant has a biological cause of infertility of at least a year’s duration
A single woman whose investigations are normal, but who has not become pregnant after 12 cycles of privately-funded donor insemination
Here is a link to the form that the specialists use to assess your eligibility:
