Topic: MS - if you throwup do you feel better? Posted: 11 January 2010 at 9:45am |
My MS has kicked in in the last few days but today it is the worst.
I feel like I constantly am drunk and then get waves of "omg im going to be sick" but have so far been able to breathe through them.
I was just wondering if anyone knows that if i just let it come out and be sick will i feel better or will it make no difference??
thanks

With Keira being sick made a big difference, I could function again with an empty stomach. I would throw up daily but apart from a few hours I would feel alright the rest of the time.
Maddi, I only ever threw up a couple of times but it didnt help at all. With her I just had constant nausea but vary rarely threw up, I would almost have to make myself occasionally if I had eaten too much.
The first few weeks aren't the most enjoyable Hope it isn't too bad for you!

thanks ladies,
i eat an apple before getting out of bed and then dh gets me vegemite on toast, so iv definately eaten but just feel like im ready to throw up constantly for well over an hour since i got up, iv sipped on ginger beer, didnt help, iv sipped water, didnt really help not trying my peppermints which seem to make me feel a lil better but doubt it will last long, i just cant stand throwing up and dont want to let it happen unless its going to make me feel better!
does it help if i tell you i used to feel a bit off till lunch time and then come right?
ETA: just put my seabands on and hope like hell they work!

With Caden I had all day nausea and it was horrid!! Up until 15 weeks.
I only threw up twice, but after I did I felt heaps better, but then the nausea came back within minutes, so I would always just breathe through the nausea where I got the "Im gonna be sick" feeling.
MS sucks, hopefully it doesnt last long for you!

I hate throwing up as well, but certainly got used to it. I was spending a bit of time hanging out round the toilet almost every morning up until 19 wks. Felt better after wards but it was often short lived. I did find that lemonade popsicles and frujus helped me to rehydrate as I couldn't stand water unless it was ice cold.

Along with the seabands, the Blackmores Morning Sickness Tablets really helped me.
And I did used to feel better for a few mins once I threw up. I feel for you. I am glad I am not going to go through that again!!!

I felt a lot better once I'd thrown up, I'd try and nap after it too, I found eating small amounts of bland food, crackers, often helped.
Oh and I found lemonade popsicles to be a lifesaver!! lol

I couldnt handle to lemonade popsicles, they made me feel worse for some reason.
With Bella, I drank chocolate primo by the gallon and that helped heaps, maybe cos it lined my tummy..

I live in my seabands and throw up as soon as i stand every morning i use to do everything to avoid being sick cos i hated it but i feel better after i am so got over that pretty quick with the first preg as i was sick everyday up until 34wks. This time i hope it goes away soon its already fading and more manageable.
Sweet tea and vegemite on toast after my first vomit seems to be helping now and eating regulary throughout the day

You poor thing, MS SUCKS!!!!
I found that once I had thrown up that I did feel better, but for the first 6-10 weeks it was just nausea, no throwing up, although i really thought i would on numerous occasions. Once I hit 10 weeks, I would generally throw up several times a day :-( But if I threw up, i could just get on with my day afterwards, feeling a bit better.
I went though phases of different things working - but sea bands, ice blocks and constant nibbling worked best for me. i found none of the tablets (even herbals or metoclopramide) worked as I just chucked them up again.
Hope it doesn't last long for you - I thought mine would go on forever, but over the last couple of weeks it seems to have cleared up :-)

I had all day nausea as well but it was the worse in the morning. I found if I was sick it did make me feel a bit better. I took ginger tablets (Travel Calm brand) and they worked a treat.
I hope it ends soon hun, I had it up to 18 weeks and then again in the 3rd trimester
ETA eating/snacking crackers and fruit constantly also helped me feel better too. I gained weight fast but it was better than feeling sick

With the twins for the first 3 or 4 months I was vomiting up to 5 times a day. It actually became the norm lol. I always felt better after a quiet spew :) I never bothered taking anything. I knew with twins I was going to have it bad and there wasn't much to be done.

With #1 bubs I had awful MS up until the day I had him.I tried every morning sickness remedy on the market I think, and nothing worked! The only that did help a bit was constantly sipping Mizone sports drink.
Am now 5 weeks pregnant with #2 and the morning sickness has been shocking again.I have my trusty bottle of Mizone on me at all times now.
Good luck!

apparently you can get these things called Preggy pops that work - my midwife recommend them. Think she told me to look online.
I like the Morning Med relief spray - it's homepathic and from the pharmacy
I still have MS, and find I feel better after I am sick in the morning. I can't function until after that!
