Topic: Do you think this could be it? Posted: 02 February 2008 at 10:26am |
Ok, I have been getting "false labour" for a few weeks now, heaps of contractions and pain that range from 10-30 mins apart. It's usually from around 11pm until about 6am, then fades back to contractions every hour or so in the morning, so I sleep then, usually.
But this morning the contractions didn't fade away, instead they have settled into a ten minute pattern, and lasting about 1 and a half mins each. It's really regular now, instead of ten mins, twenty mins, ten mins, 15 mins etc. Just every ten minutes! I also had what I think was my show this morning (pinky mucus-looking thing!?) Sorry if TMI.
So do you think that this is finally the real thing? Or should I not get my hopes up yet...

It sounds like the real thing to me, try to get some rest now, you probably can't sleep but just put your feet up (make sure you have your bag packed too)

Yay sarahbetha
Maybe I should finish packing my hospital bag...
I'm glad I had a better sleep last night than I have been getting recently! I had a sore back last night and was really uncomfortable so DH gave me a massage which I think helped me to sleep well, despite waking often because of contractions and loo breaks I will try and get some rest but I'm so tempted to clean everything in case it IS real labour... (don't know why that makes sense in my head)

Still getting contractions every ten mins, so I think this is finally the pre-amble to labour proper!! Haven't had any more show, does anyone know how much there is meant to be? There was probably about a dessert spoon full this morning, but nothing since (sorry TMI!)

Yay, go Janey!! All I can say is lots of walking (I got SO sick of my MW telling me to walk, but it does work) Not sure about show...mine didn't come away until I was about 7 cm dilated and by then I was in too much pain to notice lol!!

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Contractions getting stronger, every 7-10 mins now (so a teeny bit faster - but they haven't gone away, yay!) Just hanging out at home, eating lots and doing little jobs around the house... my MW must think I'm going to go cos she txt me just before saying she was going to be boogie-boarding for half an hour and leave her cell phone in the car, so to use her pager if I need it. Hehe
