Ok, I have been getting "false labour" for a few weeks now, heaps of contractions and pain that range from 10-30 mins apart. It's usually from around 11pm until about 6am, then fades back to contractions every hour or so in the morning, so I sleep then, usually.

But this morning the contractions didn't fade away, instead they have settled into a ten minute pattern, and lasting about 1 and a half mins each. It's really regular now, instead of ten mins, twenty mins, ten mins, 15 mins etc. Just every ten minutes! I also had what I think was my show this morning (pinky mucus-looking thing!?) Sorry if TMI.

So do you think that this is finally the real thing? Or should I not get my hopes up yet...

It sounds like the real thing to me, try to get some rest now, you probably can't sleep but just put your feet up (make sure you have your bag packed too)

Yay sarahbetha

Maybe I should finish packing my hospital bag...

I'm glad I had a better sleep last night than I have been getting recently! I had a sore back last night and was really uncomfortable so DH gave me a massage which I think helped me to sleep well, despite waking often because of contractions and loo breaks I will try and get some rest but I'm so tempted to clean everything in case it IS real labour... (don't know why that makes sense in my head)

Still getting contractions every ten mins, so I think this is finally the pre-amble to labour proper!! Haven't had any more show, does anyone know how much there is meant to be? There was probably about a dessert spoon full this morning, but nothing since (sorry TMI!)

Yay, go Janey!! All I can say is lots of walking (I got SO sick of my MW telling me to walk, but it does work) Not sure about show...mine didn't come away until I was about 7 cm dilated and by then I was in too much pain to notice lol!!

Contractions getting stronger, every 7-10 mins now (so a teeny bit faster - but they haven't gone away, yay!) Just hanging out at home, eating lots and doing little jobs around the house... my MW must think I'm going to go cos she txt me just before saying she was going to be boogie-boarding for half an hour and leave her cell phone in the car, so to use her pager if I need it. Hehe

When I was in labour with Mercedes I was having contraction every 10mins from 10.30 pm. Finally I went to sleep at 1am thinking I would wake up and it would be gone. Woke at 4am still every 10mins went back to sleep and woke at 8am still 10mins apart with the same amount of discomfort. Not overly painful but enough to take my breathe away. GOt to 5mins apart by 2pm and she was born at 9.45pm.

Bst of luck girl Janey wont be long now

I have Charly's number so when Chloe finally arrives I will get DH to send the bulk txt to her so she can update OhBaby when she gets time

I'm good at keeping u up to date because I'm home alone and need a distraction lol.

Can't wait for DH to finish work They are starting to get pretty sore and I'm getting grumpy being home alone with no one to distract me but they are so busy at his work, I don't want to make him come home earlier than he really needs to...

I'd be getting him home now too Janey. Its getting late and things are always worse then. plus you need all the distraction you can get now - its been a long day and it will be an even longer night.

I was like that too Janey. I think after so many hours of them you start to get a little less tolerant!!

Just think though, in a matter of hours you will get to meet your little girl. How EXCITING!!!

i txt and he is on his way home now, yay! yeah mum2sam, definitely getting less tolerant now...

midwife rang and said it usually gets worse in the evening and then can sometimes calm down enough for u to sleep a bit in the small hours, hope so... she thinks she will definitely be seeing me tomorrow though

anyway i'm getting too pissy now to even chat on here so catch u all later, hopefully when I have a new baby! Thanks for the support
