Topic: The one thing you hate him... Posted: 29 July 2010 at 6:28pm |
wearing...
after the discussion on the confession thread i was wondering what is the one article of clothing you hate your partner/husband wearing?
Is there a piece of clothing in his closet that you wish would disappear?

YES!!! He has this hideous hoody that his Aunty got him in Nepal or somewhere. It's old, shapeless and tatty. I have tried throwing it out numerous times but he keeps finding it!! I have managed to convince him not to wear it in public though so guess that's a bonus.

He's got these jeans he got from Postie Plus and I hate them, they are a horrible fit and a horrible colour and he insists on wearing them.

His tapered jeans. When he goes shopping for jeans without supervision he gets the same tapered levis jeans in the same blue and they just arent flattering. And then he insists on rolling the bottoms up around home and usually forgets when he puts shoes on so goes out with these ugly rolled up jeans

I will admit that is me at the moment, they are my fave pair of jeans, they are nicely scuffed down the bottom and so damn comfy and I don't want to throw them out! I do need another pair as I've only got one other.....

OMG I could have written this exact scenario
I have slowly weaned him off white sports socks though! Only black socks now live in his drawer

blondy - you have made my night! lol
Hes bad with the socks thing too, he had socks in his drawers (until 2 days ago) that he has owned since before he met me! (so probably 6+ years old) that had massive holes. So I went and brought some new socks a few days ago and said to him hes not allowed to get them until he throws the old out. He thought that was quite the good deal cause he didn't have to go shopping himself.

His old stretched work singlets. I know no one sees them except me, but I wake up to him putting them on every morning and they're just not good.
I've broken the jeans thing (though I still think he should get ones that are more fitted - he has a great butt after all!) and the old kathmandu jerseys don't bother me (great when I'm 40 weeks pregnant). I've also broken the hole-y underdaks that his mum bought when he was 17. To me, it's all about what's underneath

Mrs_B - my dad has a top that looks EXACTLY like that . My uncle bought it in Mexico (or perhaps it was Nepal - somewhere like that anyway) for him - only his came with a bright red poncho to wear over the top. He once wore it to a school fireworks gala when I was a teenager - I was hanging out with my friends when they spotted him across the field and laughed "Hey, theres a poncho man!", I was like "Uh, thats my dad.....". Lol, they bit their tongues pretty fast.
The only things I don't like DP wearing are pants that are too short for him (he's quite tall) and these shoes that he got when he was a teenager but are way too big for him so he has to tie the laces up really tight. Luckily he has given the the shoes and too short pants away now (no prompting from me necessary). He looks good in everything - even manky farm clothes.

My DF has pretty good taste IMO... but I do HATE his work trackpants - they're hideous grey ones with bands around the bottom but he only wears them on the farm so I can deal with them

Nothing I hate as such, but he does insist on wearing his underpants until they're holey and about to fall off him.
He refuses to let me buy him socks and undies so he puts off buying replacement ones for ever.
DH didn't own any decent clothes before he met me, everything was either uniform or tramping gear.
I've made sure he has a nice wardrobe.

Two things. His hideous blue bush shirt that looks like a blue "Crocodile Hunter" shirt my MIL bought from Australia. And a black t-shirt that's so baggy it looks like a sack on him advertising some kind of rum. He's got two of those I once threatened to get rid of them but I haven't got the guts.

Hahaha these are really funny
well my DP insists on wearing his dam army pants that hes cut into 3 1/4 short type things (he was in the army for 6 years and left over 2 years ago ). i despise them , when we first got together i remember him coming over one night wearing them and i was just sitting there starting at them thinking "what on earth are you wearing ???? " it only got worse from there , the more comfortable we got with each other the more he wore them , to the mall , coffee with friends , to the movies ... always wearing his dam army shorts . he had about 6 pairs when we first met (9 months ago ) now we are down to about 2 pairs , i swear if i was allowed i would have had a burning ceromony for the other 4 pairs . since being together iv managed to con him into buying a pair of smart jeans ( he didnt own one pair of long pants or jeans - lived in 3 1/4 shorts all year round ) and 2 shirts . I know he doesnt like to admit it but i think hes quite fond of his new clothes , iv noticed he wears them quite often now after swearing they would only be for good . think its all the comments from his family and friends hes been getting about how much better he looks these days
