Woke up about half an hour ago, been having strong period like pains and bub is still moving around, havent had a good chance to time them yet.
The pain nearly feel constant, is that right??

sounds like it could be the start of something ,good luck , if your able to sleep try to get some rest !
and dont worry bout baby moving, my friends baby was moving and she was well into active labour .
have you tried having a bath to see if they lessen or stop ?
start timing them (just grab a pen and paper) and perhaps ring your mw to give her a headsup

LOL now I laugh when they say get rest its quite hard to, I have left DH in bed for him to sleep.
I will start timing them and once they get to 3 mins and 45 secs long or really painfull then I ring the MW.

I have had the show, and the contractions are around 5 - 8 mins apart but lasting really long approx 40 sec+..

oooh how exciting! goodluck!!
i remember during my labour, my contractions at the start were 5-8 mins apart and lasting ages- quite intense too i think i was a freak though cause they went to 3-5 mins and didnt seem as intense lol.

That sounds very very similar to how mine started (at about the same time too) and by 8.14am my boy was born!! Hopefully you're holding your little one right now!
