Argh, so didn't know where to put this, we certainly do need the DIY forum!

Anyway I'm making breastpads with a sewing machine, no overlocker, and no pul. I have fleece and flannette available. What is the best way to go about it?

TIA

Fleece and flannelette would never have been enough for me! Mum made mine with PUL scraps and fleece, just cut circles out and sewed them together with normal sewing machine-no overlocker.

Without a waterproof layer I'm sorry to say you are really wasting your time even trying cause its just gonna soak through into your clothing.

I thought about making them but then decided that the avent ones were so nice that it was easier to just buy them...they are nice and soft and have a nice lace outer to them...they are about $12 or something over here for 6, so I got two packets and that is a good amount.

I wondered if making them on a normal sewing machine would make the edges all funny and a bit rough? would be interested to hear how they turn out and what you do to make them

I never had a huge overflow with Hollie, ample supply but they didn't get that wet. I figure when I'm at home I can change them plenty. For mulling about the house I'm not paying for disposables.

Meh, I'll experiment and see what happens Can't buy pul locally and not to fond of paying shipping prices on fabric. I may eat my words soon enough.

I wouldn't pay for disposables either when the reusables are not that much more...and of course over time the reusables are way cheaper.

I wasted my money on those advent ones- I found them useless cos I leak heaps! I still need ones with a PUL layer even tho my supply has settled down a lot now.
