The wool aircell ones are fab. And because they have lots of little holes at least if it gets over his head he will still be able to breathe.

Have a look on TM though. I got 2 from there. Much cheaper than brand new.

If you still want to use the pretty bumper thingy, put it at the end of the cot they aren't at. And definitely recommend nappies under the head - we were going through about 6 a day, so glad it wasnt sheets getting changed!

We have a blanket on the mattress, a waterproof mattress protector, a cotton fitted sheet, a flat sheet, a polar fleece blanket and a duvet on keziah at the moment..she also has a Safe T Sleep so doesn't need to be swaddled at night but does during the day as we don't use it

We also have a 100% cotton Air Cell blanket that we used in the summer time! She's a hot baby (3 degrees hotter than everyone else) and STILL got hot under that so we often just put a sheet over her until it got a little cooler

Also, like Aimee said.. use flat cotton nappies under his head just in case of spills.. it saves heaps of time

My nana is going to make some cot sheets for me out of some of her big flannelette sheets so I dont have to buy any I got two of the fleece aircell blankets yesterday aswell, so I'll pop one of those on the cot
