We've found Fuzzi's to work really well for us. We had Liam in prefolds & covers for a while but I found he got quite wet around his tummy & we'd always be changing him. They were very good at containing newborn explosions though (& they're good for the budget too). You should definitely try an itti bitti d'lish - they're so devine.

I too would an ecobubs wool pocket. The stripes are so cute.

You should definitely go visit Emma. She is the Nappy Queen

Emma, you should run cloth nappy classes!!!!

We bought a fuzzi to check them out, I practised putting it on a teddy bear. Couldnt get over how small they were, very cute

Lol Melnel, that's exactly what I did with the first nappies I bought long before there was a baby to put them on. Hubby thought I had finally gone mad

I find that Baby harmony suits us the best but we also like happy heiny's and fuzzi's.

So, if you go for prefolds and covers for newborn - how many prefolds, how many covers would you experienced cloth mums recommend to a virgin cloth nappy user???

I had 6 prefolds (but I also used pockets) and 3 covers - so 2 per cover.

I'd say 18-odd prefolds and 3 covers would be heaps, you could get by with less prefolds if you were washing every day but I've always found it helps to have a few extra up your sleeve in case you can't get some dry or have a bad day and don't get washing done.
