So it appears my milk has dried up

Jake still wants to feed but gets quite frustrated and pulls at and squeezes my boobs quite hard and after a minute or 2 gives up and comes off so I offer the other side and the same thing.... Then he gets upset!

Is there anything I can do? It just sort of happened over a couple of days and its probably been about 3 days now. He seems to be asking for it less (I guess he figures whats the point) but as he is still showing interest and his diet isnt great I would like him to keep going if possible.

Is it a lost cause?

it wont have dried up - it would have changed a bit however since you are pregnant.

My supply has definately dropped off I think. DS only feeds first thing in the morning now but is doing the same thing as your boy. However I'm not worried as are really wanting him to self wean. You could try Tigers Milk to boost your supply:

Tigers Milk:

2L milk
2 Tbs milo
2 Tbs brewers yeast
2 bananas
2 eggs
Honey to taste

Blend together and drink 3-4 lrg glasses a day

Although I guess you would leave the eggs out since you're pregnant.

LOL nevermind as Bizzy said I havnt dried up...

I was so sure they were empty the way he was carrying on and normally after he had feed I can hand express a couple of drops at least but I was getting nothing..

He just had a huge feed and I was able to get it flowing again by hand expressing...

So weird!

Maybe I was a bit run down and the supply dropped?

Mel I"ve had this a couple of times...Clodagh's gone to BF and stayed on about 30 secs before pulling off, sometimes seems frustrated and I'm sure my milk supply has dropped during this pg. She also sometimes hits my breasts  a bit like a kitten kneading its Mama for milk lol. But harder ow.

Guess it's inevitable that changes happen during pg....our milk supply is bound to be one of them! How often is Jake feeding? Clodagh's (mostly) down to 2 a day.

Normally 3 but occassionally only once....

Yup, thats what I meant about squeezing.. he kneads them like a kitten does.. LOL

I am probably not eating enough and it did occur to me that the past 5 days I have not had my porridge for breakfast. Dont worry I do eat real food, I dont go out especially for maccas but if I am passing one I somehow always end up with a cheeseburger in my hand

I read somewhere that its natures way to change the taste of your breastmilk when you're pregnant so the child will self wean in time for your next baby. Maybe this is what is happening with you now?
