On my notes it has 32hrs but 17hours active. My contractions were 8mins apart and 1min long right from the get go, but they didn't consider it active until I was at 4cm, which was when they broke my waters.

Hmm, well my contractions started at 5mins apart from the get go. Ds was born 2days later. However I count my 'active' labour from when I got to hospital and my waters broke. 15hrs for me.

I count from the first contraction - the first 2 were 10 minutes apart then they were 4-5 minutes apart and lasting a minute from the third contraction... that was at 7pm, got to hospital at midnight, was 5cm, and baby was born at 5am... so 10 hours all up...

I count from the first contraction - it was 12 hours from start to finish. I had my first contraction at 3:30am - it woke me up. I hadn't had any niggles or BH or anything prior - I was 10 days late and was getting pretty grumpy! Anyway, I went to Birthcare at 9:30am, I was 5 cm dilated at that stage. I was transferred to hospital at around midday (size of DS) and had him at 2:48am.

I went and had a look at my notes. First birth was 1 hour 45 minutes of active labour. Second birth was 3 hours of active labour. Both births were 4 hours including pushing and delivery of children. I remember get upset after 2 hours with my second as it was taking longer than the first.

I counted mine from active labor as according to mw I was in labor with regular contractions and 4cm dilated 3 days before my active labor, but I didn't feel a thing until active labor so I just say 3 hours which is from the point I KNEW she was coming lol.
