Jae was born mid-June, I stopped expressing (by then it was the equivalent of one full feed per day, I was a terrible cow!) at 4.5 months old and AF showed in full force 4 days later, and has been mor or less regular ever since

I've only just got AF back now and DS was 14 months yesterday, he was BF until nearly 13 months. I have also just changed pills so that may be part of the reason why.

Everyone is different as you can see from the above posts.. mine came back at 15 weeks exactly and the first 3 were regular BUT even though I WAS ovulating my Luteal Phase was only 7 days so even if I did conceive it wasnt long enough for a baby to properly implant before I started bleeding.
Some women click right back into their old cyle while others it can take a couple of years before everything is back to normal....

Hey mel, was your luteal phase short before? I'm guessing after those 3 it sorted itself out since you're preggers?
I just had my first AF so 6 months later and 2 1/2 months after stopping breastfeeding and I had an 8 day LP, when I first started charting that's what it was too and it gradually lengthened with herbs/vitamins/acupuncture so I was a bit bummed that I was back to the beginning (not that we're thinking of trying just yet) so fingers crossed it's just a few mixed up cycles like you.
Lily - I think if you're still pretty much fully BF (even with solids) your AF is more likely to be a bit delayed. For about 3 or 4 weeks before mine turned up I had heaps and heaps of EWCM everyday and purely by coincidence I did an OPK and it was the day I must have ovulated as I got really bad cramps that night and then the EWCM stopped and a week later AF turned up so look out for the EWCM if you're wanting to concieve - though that's only my experience.

I am fully breastfeeding with no solids yet and still waking at night for feeds and my AF came back...felt a bit ripped off.
The first cycle was normal but since then a bit random.

Nope Chelle, my LP was great.. when I actually ovulated
Short LP is normal and common when bf, which by the way I still was bf when I fell pg (about 5 per day).
The cycle I conceived (cycle 4) I didnt ovulate until CD58 and had gone back on vitex and B6 to help even out the hormones.. I am guessing it worked The first 3 were 40 days with ov on CD32!
Pre Jake ov was CD18-CD25 with a 12 day LP

I got af back at about 7 weeks, it lasted 2 weeks and I haven't seen it for about 5 weeks!
Before getting pregnant I had a regular, very regular down to the day and hour, cycle. 28 days, 1 whole week AF, 3 weeks nothing.
