Hi everyone. I'm just wondering what baby formula you use? There are so many to choose from it's hard to know which one to pick so it would be good to get some feedback from other parents about what formulas they prefer using.

I've recently started my 5 month old on formula and we use the S-26 Lactose Free one. I'm thinking of changing it though as it seems to have made her quite constipated.

TIA

We use S-26 Newborn, only because thats what the hospital used when we were there so I figured id better not change incase it upset her tummy.

11 weeks later and ive had no probs with it so ive just kept on it, only constipated once (i think, it was 3 days between so just assume she was a bit blocked) otherwise shes a once a dayer lol

From what ive heard (and read while gazing at the tins in the supermarket) they are much the same unless they are a specific lactose free, goats milk etc kind

I use the Karicare gold again that was because its what they use at the hospital but she only has one formula feed a day so wouldn't really know if it would cause her constipation if she were on it full time... But I know that babies can become constipated on any formula when they first switch over to it as its harder to digest

Karicare didn't agree with my girl she got quite bunged up and windy on it, I switched to Nurture and she was fine.

The best way to work out what your baby likes is to start with the sachets to see which one they like then go for the tin.

You can get free samples for most of the standard formulas via the websites.

We used to use Karicare Gold until my girls decided they wouldn't drink it! Switched to Heinz Nurture Gold and they've been fine on it. Seems less "thick" than the Karicare too.

My DD has only been on formula for a few months. We started off with Karicare Gold Toddler but recently I've found it really hard to find at the supermarket so we got the Nurture Gold Toddler instead. I agree with Danda08 when she says that it appears less thick. It's far more powdery. Isla seems to drink a lot more of it too. She used to take forever to drink her bottle when on the Karicare but guzzles it down in one go now she is on the Nurture Gold. And actually - come to think of it, her poos were really hard there and difficult for her to pass for a while but have been much better lately so I guess it was to do with the formula! Didn't think of that!
