omg VB, that sucks!

I would find a new MW and ask for a scan. Thats just so unfair. I dont understand how you can hcg that hight and not have a viable pregnancy...

Im so sorry you are going through this!

Geez what ass'es to abandon you like that!!! What is your GP like, can they help? Because they can certainly do scan referrals and all the things that MWs do in the early stages.

OMG Vanilla Bean you have had a tough few weeks, not at all helped by the useless people you have dealt with, who call themselves professionals!!

As you have learnt HCG levels can mean all sorts of things and are varied. But, I have recently suffered a Blighted Ovum and my levels did increase to 21,000 but very very slowly. They started to drop off when I should have been about 9 weeks.

The biggest of hugs, this waiting game sucks big time and I bet by now you are just wishing for an answer one way or another.

I wish there was something I could do to make it all better, you are in my thoughts....

xx

That is so horrible that they aren't taking proper care of you. I agree with Stacey talk to your gp as they quite often look after women up until the 12 week mark anyway (I don't think midwifes getting funding before 12 weeks).
Fingers crossed the specialist is wrong and that the next scan will show a healthy pg.

Well, I called the midwife last night and she hadn't realised that the specialist was refusing to do any more follow up and she that she would help me with any referrals I need and so on from this point. She also talked about options for other specialists and practitioners to help with the recurrent miscarriage. She knows a bit about it because she has had three herself although I think that was several years ago now.

So that was really helpful and its amazing what a difference it makes to feel like someone cares but this is still incredibly difficult.

Well that's an improvement at least.
That specialist has made me angry!
I hope you find some great support and help.

The specialist has made me angry too. From what I can gather the only reason that he called me was because my GP phoned him and gave him a hard time. I guess if this pregnancy does go kaput, at least I will be able to get a public specialist next time and that should mean they will give more continuity of care even if I do have a midwife too.
