There are a couple of us in the troublesome trying thread with multiple losses - as far as I'm aware there aren't any other multiple loss & actively trying threads on oh baby :(
Jessicajanea - I had two back to back MC. 1st one I conceived in Aug, lost at 11w,6d in Oct, tried again that cycle (14 days later), then again the next cycle, BFP. Then got pregnant on our third attempt. Lost that baby at 12w, 1d.
Turns out, the probable cause for me is elevated Thyroid Antibodies, which in basic terms not only attack your thyroid, but can also attack the fetus :-(
My natural fertility expert picked this up after doing 17 different blood tests (thankfully all taken in one go!). She tested for nearly all possible causes for MC that could be tested for in that way. All came back fine apart from that one - and my levels are hugely elevated. It's very rarely tested for by GP's or even by Fertility Assoc (they noted I had low thyroid levels but didn't test my antibodies).
I am now on month two of a detox and she is working me through a range of different supplements to build up my thyroid etc and reduce the antibodies (a method she has used successfully with other women who have had recurrent MC because of this issue). We will be trying to conceive again November :-)
So although this may not be what is causing your MC's, it is well worthwhile going to someone like her (or her!), to get an assessment done before you try again. Fertility Assoc have even had her in to speak to their clients during fertility seminars. A natural health practitioner will spend at least an hour with you on the first visit and really listen to you, then help to work out a plan. I think the peace of mind of knowing that someone is listening and that you are doing something about it is half of the benefit!!
Wow thank you so much for that, that's encouraging to hear that there are solutions. For me I think because I'm quite young most of my concerns have been dismissed cause i'm supposedly young and healthy.
WHO IS THIS WOMAN!!! hahaha she sounds amazing.
how do you go about finding a natural fertility expert?
