I hope your night went ok? Well done for getting him to bed a bit earlier! Small steps!

I would try suffering through that witching hour without a sleep - I know it would be hard but I reckon it would be worth it! Leave his 2nd sleep unitl after lunch if poss and then put him to bed around 6.30... my kids have always gone to bed at around 6.30 and they wake between 6 and 6.30am.
It is hard getting into a new routine for the first few days but it is worth it! He is getting bigger and needing less sleep!

I would continue putting him down that early.
When he wakes maybe sit with him, talk to him but dont get him up if you can avoid it. Rub his head etc. If he wakes around 10-11pm maybe give him a bottle then.
It might be a hard week or two. But you will both benefit from it once he is settled into the routine

Well, he woke five times last night with three feeds but I think it was fairly successful. Tonight got him down at 7.30 - had him almost ready to go down at 7pm but then Daddy came home and that got him all excited Have had two wake ups so far between sleep cycles but I figure its just a bit confusing for him at the moment as to whether he has been put down for another nap or whether he has been put down for the night. Hopefully in a few days it will stop.

On the fourth night of his new routine he had one wake up for a feed and slept until 6am, so I think he has now more or less settled into it. Thanks so much everyone for your advice!
