HELP - Central Otago fertility referral...

Hi - I live in Queenstown, aged 38… partner aged 40. TTC for 15 months.

Have waited since Oct 2013 for referral via PUBLIC system. Have now had initial consult and had HSG which came back as right tube blocked, left is fine. Next step is 5 month wait for hysteroscopy / laproscopy to see what cause is etc…       

Have been referred for PRIVATE consult also (as unsure which we are aware body clock time is ticking!!) and we have been referred to Greg Phillipson, Fertility Associates who runs a once a month Queenstown clinic (based in Christchurch). Can't understand why we haven't been referred to Wayne Gillet or Barbara Richards in Dunedin like many others from Queenstown (?)… as if we do have to go IVF I can't even imagine having to get up to Christchurch for treatment (5 hrs+) versus Dunedin (4 hrs). Or maybe we don't… no-one has explained.

Is anyone else from Central Otago and been referred via Fertility Associates in Christchurch??

I WISH one of the professionals we are dealing with would explain the whole process to us - it seems I am doing all the ringing around… I even had to chase up and get my HSG results myself from Kew Hospital as they never got back to me (a month afterwards) with "oh haven't you heard yet?". Ho hum. Time is a ticking'!
