DS does not like his pram. He will last in it for about 30 mins max before he starts to complain, and I'm talking full on crying. Hes in a mountain buggy swift and it doesn't matter whether hes sitting up or lying down he doesn't like it. I normally end up carrying him and pushing the pram which can get pretty hard in town or on the hills in wellington.I have a frontpack which I use when we're popping in and out of the car but when we are out for a while then I want to use the pram. We have a wedding coming up and I really dont want to have him in the frontpack for the whole thing.
Any advice on how to get him to like the pram? Hes also the same in the carseat.
DD was the same. Hate to say it but it was a phase for us which lasted a few months. Got terrible cabin fever as I didn't want to take her out in the pram!! I tried everything too.
She eventually came right and now loves it. Hope it passes soon for you!
Is it comfy?
DS1 was the same until I bought a fleecy fluffy cover from trademe to put underneath him in the buggy. he suddenly became a convert lol
Not something you can do with the carseat though, unfortunately.
Is he in a capsule or convertible carseat? Many babies feel more comfy once in a convertible, I guess it is the 'folded in the middle' thing.
My DD2 didn't really like the pram. Not as much as the front pack. In hindsight I think it wasd reglux related but at 5yrs she is still my most cuddly child, so maybe just personality.
My daughter doesn't like her pram either - no matter what position. My first daughter always liked it so it was a bit of a surprise. So I've mainly used the wrap, and my Ergo arrived today. You may find at the wedding you can just pass the baby around!
I've also learnt that my daughter will sleep in it, as long as she is swaddle wrapped.
What about getting a pretty sling to wear your baby in at the wedding? You can start off with the pram using the suggestions above but keep the sling with you and if all else fails slip it on.
