Well, he 's not exactly refusing food. When I offer him his breakfast/lunch/tea he turns his head away or spits out his food.

Its mostly a problem in the morning as he goes to preschool and I end up giving him a bottle to replace his breakfast, as I can't let him go hungry.

Anyone elses bubba done this? I'm hoping its just a stage!!!

it will just be a stage... can you give him a piece of toast of something instead, see if that holds his interest.

Lily did this a couple of weeks ago for about 2-3 weeks, just wasn't interested, not sure what the problem was exactly, she also went off sleeping at night too, but day sleeps were fine. Think it was a phase, not teething - no teeth.

Does he have any teeth coming through that could be bothering him perhaps?

Can you send his brekkie along with him or will they not do that? (I don't have a clue haha) Might be just too early maybe, might need to wake up some more or something.

AHA, my boy's also going thru this. So frustrating coz surely he's hungry. I give him toast or sandwhiches or a cruskit (so it's not just puree/mashed food he's off) and he just smushes it and throws it on the floor over and over and over again..I keep offering it to him etc but he is teething so i put down 2 that..He's just cut 2 teeth in the last 2 weeks and his top two are bulging at the gums so I'm guessing they're not far off and thats why he's so fussy..

Fingers crossed it is just a stage but if you (or I lol) get really worried phone plunketline or yur plunket nurse .. well thats what I'll do lol

DS is coming up 1 and seems to be going through this too. I've been doing BLW with him since he was 6 1/2months and generally he was eating pretty well from about 9months but again now he just isn't interested and is upping his milk feeds.
As long as he is still getting lots of wet nappys and still having dirty nappies I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure it is just a phase.

Sounds like a phase to me.
DS went a month or so just after he turned 1 where it felt like he didn't eat anything. Then he got over it and started eating bigger/normal meals again.
A couple of weeks back his meals were getting so big I was worried I was over feeding him. Then just as suddenly he's back on to 1/2 portions.
They say babies under 2yrs can self regulate. If he's happy and not dehydrated - go with it.

My 10 month old bubba is the same Kezza. Went from being a good eater to refusing breakfast. Even refuses yoghurt which is her absolute favourite!! Dinner can be pretty painful too.

She still gets a breastfeed when she wakes so thought it might be that she just isn't hungry once its breakfast time. Went down to feeding her one side only but that hasn't made a difference. I'm hoping now its just a phase!!
