Topic: BFP - maybe? Posted: 18 August 2006 at 3:42pm |
Well, I did a POAS test today, and a 2nd line came up - not very dark, but something definitely there, and started to appear after only about a minute.
WAY lighter than the control line though.
False positives aren't very common are they?
Hard to say if I tested at the right time as I'm not long off the pill, and don't really know my cycle length yet, but it's 32 days since start of last period.
So, I'm still a bit worried about getting excited too early, but seems hopeful at this stage!

A line is a line, so I'm going to say CONGRATS !! And yes, false positives are very rare - you might have struck it lucky and are one of those ladies that falls pregnant with ease after coming off birth control.

sounds positive to me, if unsure, do one tomorrow morning, but I will say congrats.
My second line was so faint I thought I was seeing things!

Thanks guys! My first congratulations!!
Thanks for the link too Jax - very informative! The line was DEFINITELY visible & pink (no magnifying glasses or flourescent lights etc), and it was well within the time, so I'm pretty excited.
Maybe that helps explain why I've been so exhausted recently - just thought it was too much work.

Thanks everyone!
Just got back from the doctor's. Basically she just confirmed that it's all go. She didn't even make me do another pee test or anything. As you guys said, a positive is a positive, so she didn't see the need to do it again.
Got to go to Medlab for a blood test at some point, but apparently no rush on that really.
And she's given me a number to call to be put in touch with an available midwife.
Still seems very unreal, and I think it will until the scan and the time we can really start telling everyone.

I have to say I did that with this one. I was walking around the house swearing and cursing and then my friend turned up and she just laughed at me.
But Congrats to you, I have an April baby already and he is lovely at times
