Hi all,

I am new here. :) My DH and I are have been trying for n umber 4 for about a year now, I have 3 gorgeous children from a previous relationship, they happened rather quickly however this seems to be taking it's merry time :P

Is there anyone else here maybe in a similar situation?

Hi peaches we are also ttc #4 we have 3 boys. I fell pg with DS1 about 8 mths before we were going to try as we were planning our wedding.

DS1 was 2& 1/2 when I fell pg again & we had been trying for 1& 1/2 yrs we lost the baby at 13 weeks. I went to a clinic to learn how to read my cycle to try to get pg again but gave up thinking we would not have any more them 3 moths after the m/c I fell pg...we were not trying.

DS2 stopped BF at 10 mths & I found out I was 6weeks pg with DS3.

None of my boys were planed at the times I fell pg.

We have been trying since DS3 (4yrs) was born for one more &would love a girl. For this one I have been planning, charting & trying to get the timing right.

If you are serious about it I would suggest you chart, temp, get blood tests done & DH's count done.

Good luck

Peaches I had one from a prior marriage that was very much a surprise... then when my current partner and I started trying for our own baby,... nothing... we started getting basic tests done and found out DP had some pretty shoddy swimmers, and once he started taking some tablets, we sudenly concieved our little girl (7 weeks after being told we needed IVF, his swimmers were that bad!)

Since you have been trying for a year, you should be able to see your GP and get some blood tests done on both of you, and a sperm analysis on your hubby just to see where things are at right now.

Thanks for your replies. Yeah DH and I have spoken about getting some tests done etc however when it comes time to make an appointment he freaks out and 'changes his mind"??

Peaches, mine was like that too, in the end I had to go make the appointment to discuss tests etc, and get the paperwork and bring home the little pottle, and take it in when the deed was done *rolls eyes* he didnt want anyone seeing his face, and connecting it to the 'sample' lol!!

Also there maybe nothing wrong it may be timing or other factors you can fix yourself.

Go to the Dr get some bloods done & get DH a form so he can get tested...maybe he just does not want to see the Dr.

Yes I was thinking of getting the little pottle for DH to his thing. I think he is more embarrassed than anything. I am thinking it must be timing, but I have been keeping track of things however maybe I am doing it wrong? Am currently on CD 11 so I'm guessing in the next few days? is that right?

peaches- i suggest charting too. it's a great way to figure out when you actually ov etc. i was way out on my days but with the help of charting i now know exactly what my cycle is like. i highly recommend it. have a look at fertility friend.com and see what you think. also we'd love to have your company over in the charting girls thread!
