When DS was first born, and I went to the first plunket PIN meeting I was told about loads of stuff I could do with DS and plunket courses etc. . . .
At the time it was information overload and as DS was v.unsettled under about 5mths I never pursued any of it.

He's older now and if only I could remember some of the suggestions it would be great.

It was things like, local playcentres, plunket courses, music groups. . . .

If other mum's are involved with this stuff or would like to talk about an activity/course they really enjoy it be nice to hear.

(I'm in central Wellington)

I do the SPACE course through playcentre, which is great (although its a half hour drive to get there, which puts me off), if there's one handy you might enjoy that. Issac might be a bit old for that. It's aimed at first time parents, has discussions, tips, toy making actvities and coffee.

Also go to regular playcentre, which I love as it is a good chance to get to meet people and learn new skills.

Have started a plunket coffee group, which is early days, but seems OK.

My friends go to Mainly Music, which they love. Nobody does it where we live sadly.

Parent's centre do great things, off courses on topics, but paly groups to.

I am about to start Space with dd next month!
The one in my suburb was all booked which sucks because I can't drive so she'll probably be over tired by the time we get there what with having to wait for busses etc.

Was meant to do coffee group but dd was sick both days that we were meant to meet for it and I don't have anyones numbers or names to contact them.

Another good thing is the toy library, I am a member and even though you can choose not to do duties (counting the number of toys people return), if you do it's a great way to meet new people and you can even take bubs along!

Oh and I am Northern Suburbs Welly.
