Topic: Hairdresser in Wellington Posted: 13 May 2010 at 10:28pm |
Hi guys,
I know that this has been asked a billion times, but looking for recommendations - for me.
I LOVE my HD but she is super expensive these days as she is in the creative team, and I just can't justify the cost.
Looking for someone who can do a good job with short, fine hair (I like a textured, flicky look) and not cost the earth. Preferably less than $70.
Ideas?

ETA: Just getting rid of my pics now they served their purpose... kinda lol!

I second Pure, just started going there and have been really happy with the cut, they are also the first hairdressers in the 4 years we have been in wellington who got my colour right

My next door neighbour (Korokoro, L/Hutt) has a salon in her house and charges me around $30 for a cut (she's good with fine hair cause that's what I've got). PM if you want her details.

Hey guys,
Resurrecting this topic as am still after recommendations. I did try Pure but was a little disappointed to be honest.
My hair is very fine and there's not heaps of it, so getting a good cut is tricky.
Does anyone else have any I should try?
Thanks again!!

Oh bummer, no other suggestions from me sorry! I have fine hair but find Pure great but does depend on who you get, I had their head stylist once and I was not happy with that cut at all!
There is Synergy (sp?) in Queensgate, my sister went there last year and was very happy with her colour and cut she got done for a wedding.

Kiwilaurie have you tried Glo in J'ville? From memory they were costing me about $50 to $60 a cut though that was a wee while ago. I have always been happy with them. On the other hand, the last cut I had was at KESS in Queensgate and I was just as happy with that one and it only cost me $35.

Have you tried the ones in Tawa. There is one close to the library on the Main Street. I used to go there but then moved away from Tawa. They were really good.

Hi,
I go salon shalzy in the hutt, just by queensgate and have been really happy with them ( i have thick thick hair tho, so cant comment on fine hair).
And as a bonus if you have an entertainment book there is a voucher in there for 25% off a cut and colour

Renee is talking about Salon Savoy in Tawa. I went there recently (I had Brenda) and I really like what she did with my hair. I have fine hair but HEAPS AND HEAPS of it, and I think she did a good job.

Let us know how you get on. I got a voucher and tried Pure and hated the cut! I go to Buoy in Wgtn, Michael Beel, but he is $108 per cut, fantastic job tho, I only cut my hair every 8 months so I can afford to go there once a year!

Love Shazly! Went there for years before I moved to Hamilton and am always so tempted to book in there when I come back down (even though its been 6 years since I last went, no one I have found up here compares). I converted all the ladies I worked with and my mum. They all love her. Sorry no idea of cost tho.
