    Posted: 20 April 2010 at 12:43pm
DD has just learnt to crawl and bingo along comes a nursing strike. Apparently this is quite common. I have just returned the breast pump I borrowed as I wasn't using it. I have now ordered another.
I don't have a great supply to start with!

Am scared I'll lose it al together! She doesn't like bottles or formula. Any tips for riding this out?

Have tired feeding in dark room to cut similuation etc but to no avail. She'll dream feed happily but not when awake.

The only thing that really seems to help us is if I lay down with DS skin-to-skin for a while and let him find his way to my breast.

Have a look at the KellyMom site, there is heaps of great info there.

Good luck, hopefully it doesn't last too long

How old is your DD? I have heard that a little marmite is helpful.

This happened to me too and someone gave me the kellymom site link - i found it really helpful. Not sure what advice to give about keeping your supply up sorry, dont know how you find manual pumping in the shower or something?
Kaelin wouldnt take a bottle the first time either and i spoon fed formula into her...painful but the strike ended in 4 or 5 days i think. Good luck!

I managed to get a pump from breastmates overnight. Brilliant service. I had some luck with Kellymom suggestion of feeding while walking around and spoon feeding EBM.

At 9 months she's super mobile so getting her to stay still is tricky.
