What age did you stop feeding your child a meal if they continued to throw food on the floor?

Ava has been doing this a lot lately and it's definitely on purpose . I know she is still hungry because she will always eat fruit if I offer it afterwards.

Throwing food on the floor is normal toddler behaviour, at this moment Caden is chucking his bread on the floor lol.
Plunket told me its a learning thing, they like to watch the food/toy hit the floor.

I just dont make a big deal about him throwing it down, and I just clean it up when he is done. They dont do it to be naughty, just how they learn.

I clean it up too and don't make a fuss. I know it's a stage, just wondering what to do. The dog is happy about it

Hmmm my wee one year old chucks stuff over the side too, with a very deliberate look on her face - monster!

The other thing she's into is she's figured out how to get the water out of her Nuby sippy cup.  She tips the whole lot into her tray and loves sloshing and finger painting with it.  Drives me up the wall!

Taylah will pick apart all her food and throw it on the floor, most days now i dont even bother with finger foods, i just feed her myself. Then when i have given her a sandwich/cracker etc she has been good and not thrown it

I think it must be an age thing. Also going through this, although now he calls the dogs and throws food at them so i think he just likes watching them eat *pulls hair out*

ARGH! Callum does this too! It drives me nuts. He also does the water thing AND he likes to put food in his mouth and then blow raspberries at me

If he's doing it at lunch time I usually give him 3 chances to eat (I only give him 3 or 4 bite sized things on the tray at once) and if he just throws/spits it all out then I clean up and get him out of the chair and that's it. He usually eats really well at afternoon tea and/or tea time

If it's tea time when he's being a pest then same routine but if he didn't eat much at lunch time then I will usually give him fruit/yoghurt. He oftens spits that out too so then tea time is over! If he really didn't eat much I might try again 30 mins later if he's not over tired.
