Topic: minipill and spotting Posted: 02 February 2010 at 9:10am |
I started the minipill 6 days ago, and started spotting (quite heavily) yesterday and its still going today. I had some fairly unpleasant post-birth issues related to my bleeding so I'm pretty distressed about having to deal with more bleeding already!
Mu question is, for those of you who got spotting in the first pack of the minipill, did it settle down or was it a persistent problem?
Did changing brands help? I'm on noriday.
Thanks

I had a bout of heavy spotting in the 1st month of my minipill, the only time I've had spotting since was when I missed one. Other then that, it's hassle free.

I had spotting/bleeding every 2 weeks on the mini pill for the 3 months I took it. It drove me crazy so went and had the Implant put in. Ive had that in for almost 2 months now and still have the same problem except now the bleeding is more frequent.
I hope it stops for you cos its a real PITA.

Hey t rex,
I also had spotting the first month on Noriday. It did pass thankfully but my mum who is also on it had spotting constantly for about two months and they prescribed her a double dose of the Noriday..
Maybe if it doesn't stop soon you should go back to dr's.

Thanks girls. I'll mention it to the doc when i'm there with C today, but I really want this to work so I'll give it a few months.

i was on the exact same minipill and it did the same thing for quite a few months with me.
when i talked to my doctor she increased my dose to 2 per day rather than 1 which stopped my bleeding all together and is quite normal apparently which was totally fine with me!
i would talk to your doc and see what they recommend, the spotting drove me crazy as well so not having one at all was awesome
