Hi all, i'm new to the site and new to the 'getting pregnant' process. I've been looking through many sites trying to find some information on what i should be doing prior to getting pregnant.
I know about the folic acid tablets, healthy diet and exercise. But how much folic acid and for how long, also what do they classify as a healthy diet. should i give up coffee and certain foods? So many questions.
Ideally i would like to get some reading material that both my husband and i can read and refer back to when needed. Does anyone know of any sites that send you information?
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure i do this right and cover all my basis.
Hi Mina - it is recommended that you take folic acid whilst trying to conceive and then up until about week 12 or 13 in pregnancy. 800mg per day is the amount you should take.
