Hi
So I was thinking it would be fun to make animal biscuits for my girl (minus the colourful sugary icing for now) but was wondering whether even plain animal biscuits might be too sugary? But then Plunket has wine biscuits listed on its finger food chart so....? What have other people done? Are there any other options - like low sugar biscuits that you can make? I just thought it would be something else she could try, and give her something hard to gnaw on with teeth coming through. Basically, I would rather make something at home because I usually bake my own biscuits rather than buy them, and I don't see why I should do anything different for my daughter. Ideas? thanks!

Yep I would give her what you would eat too. Also, you can safely reduce the sugar by about half in most recipes without it affecting the texture. I hardly ever use as much sugar as the recipe says unless it's in a cake!
