Ok so I am so proud of myself we will be 5 month's in 4 day's and I have managered to breastfeed my wee girl all this time. However the last 3 week's she has been really unsettled so we introduced farex ,but she is really not that keen. I have been trying to keep my milk supply up, but not to much sucess so I need advice we have finally managered to get her to take a bottle of EBM and now I can see how much it would be easier jsut to go to formula, but I really don't think I want too argh I am just so confused on one had it would be sad cause we have made it this far on the other well this was a huge achievement and its ok to do the formula thing.
I know no one can decide for me, but I just want to hear from other's any opion will do.

I breastfed till Keziah was 6 months old and we had to introduce solids at 4 months because she was so unsettled even after being attached to me all the time. She was ALWAYS hungry and so unsettled but as soon as we introduced solids (Farex at first and then fruit) she was fine.

Eventually I gave up breast feeding the for personal reasons, but even on Formula I found that Keziah is more settled and I was producing huge amounts of milk

You could try looking at natural supplements to help increase your supply, fenugreek is meant to be good, as is Blessed Thistle. I've also heard that adding brewers yeast (NOT regular yeast) to your food can help, as well as eating foods like banana, oatmeal, etc. Naturopharm do a spray called MilkFlow too, and all of the above you can probably get from a chemist or health food store.

Hey Deb, I found Blessed Thistle amazing for boosting my supply. It worked in less than 24 hours!
You might find that your supply is actually fine and it just seems like there's not as much because your Emily has become more efficient at feeding?
Are you due for your period? Benjy often had unsettled weeks when I was about to get mine.
Or if she's got a tooth brewing feeding might be uncomfortable for her.
Just throwing ideas around here!
Well done chick, for managing to feed her this long. 5 months is awesome!
I hope that whatever you decide, Emily is happy and settled again soon.

Same thing happened to me Luke was unsettled tried him on farex at close to 6 months he didn't take it. Tried formula but he had an allergy.

I think from talking to loads of people it's a stage at between 4 -6 months were there feeding and sleeping patterns can change. How is her sleeping? Usually they are connected. It could be the humidity as well.

Well done for BF for this long good on you

my wee girl is 5 and a half months and I know she's pretty unsettled at the moment because she's teething!! Also, I found that she didnt really seem that keen on Farex so I boiled up some pumpkin, pushed it through a sieve and she loves that (I thought she might be extra hungry which is why we started the solids but it made no difference to her sleep patterns)
