Bored and looking to waste a minute of you life? Then read on and find out how I spent my evening.

How many people does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

The lightbulb in our lounge blew today so DH had to change it.

It's in a fitting hanging from the roof with a fan above it. We suspect much of the house was a half-pie DIY job and the light fitting is no exception (there are actually screws sticking partway out).

Anyway DH was trying to unscrew the glass and plastic cover from the rest of the fitting so he could removed the bulb but her could only get it so far and the fan blade were spinning every time he tried to spin the cover which didn't help so I stood on a chair and held the blades while he tried to unscrew the glass and plastic cover. Still no luck.

So MIL brought over a chair for DH to stand on. From that vantage he figure the plastic part should have been unscrewed - oops.

So MIL stood on a chair and there was her holding the fans blades, me holding the plastic part of the cover, DH unscrewing the glass part of the cover and Michaela on the chair behind me holding my legs (trying to get in on the action).

We finally got the cover removed and wouldn't you know it, we need a screw top bulb and only have bayonet style so couldn't change the light bulb anyway.

Teehee, classic!

I have to get the landlord to change the bulbs in our lounge, there are six of them in two fancy light fitting thingies and it takes tools and elbow grease to get them out. Last time he broke one of the lightfittings, hence why I make him do it!
