Topic: Hyperemesis is so cruel :o( Posted: 21 February 2008 at 10:15am |
I guess I just remembered how nasty hyperemesis can be I've been feeling relatively OK the past few weeks, still constant nausea but I stopped vomiting every day about a month ago and I'm able to eat pretty normally.
But the past couple of days it's come up with a fury. I've started throwing up again in the mornings out of the blue which is awful, shivering over the sink and sweating at the same time, yuck! And then feeling pretty miserable for the rest of the day.
This bites!

Is there nothing you take for it? Hope it goes away soon. Have you got your nanny with you today? Try and rest.

Yup Kellz, am considering taking them again for a couple of weeks or so till it settles down again.
And yep, the nanny is here Mel. I feel OK atm, just generally gross but nowhere near as sick as I was in the beginning.

Oh no that sucks Emma!
I didnt have that, but I had all day nausea and quite a few times I was over the sink shaking, sweating and gagging, but nothing would come up! I wish it would have cos I felt rotten all day. Mine went away at about 15 weeks.
I feel so sorry for you, can you take something for it?

Ugh!! Sorry your feeling like crap..
I had this too, but it normally came around bed/sleep time. I would have to make a mad dash for the bathroom to vomit where I would shiver and sweat at the same time.. spent the whole 3rd trimester in the toilet (or so it seemed) and it was freakin horrible!!!
Even after Keziah was born I had a bad case of the hot/cold shivers a few times, but I think that's because I was on hospital for so long and had gotten used to being constantly warm...

Yep hyperemesis sucks. I was bad enough that I ended up in hospital as I had ketones in my urine and had heaps of IV fluids to sort it. Thankfully the vomitting stopped at 16 weeks, then came back again at 22 weeks for a week and stopped again. Can definately sympathise with all those who have it.

Big hugs to you
I know exactly how you feel. It's horrible. My son is almost 5 weeks now. I had hypermesis. I had it through the entire pregnancy. It was worst up until about 16 weeks, but I still vomited every single day. I can now say it was definately worth every single vomit, hospital visit and anti nausea med, now that Austin is here. But it was very hard at the time to always keep my spirits up when I felt so sick. I had to be off work for 2 months cos I was bedridden and then I when I went back I only resumed light duties. Gosh how do you do it with your other kiddies? I couldn't even look after myself...couldn't even shower! That's my fear for getting pregnant again...It may not happen again or it may...no one knows! I certainly agree Hyperemisis is so cruel!

I've been in hospital with every pregnancy so far, only one stay with this one thank goodness. The gremlins was the worst, I spewed every day from 5 weeks till 36 weeks when they were born and felt absolutely crappy the whole way thru, I pretty much hibernated.
I started feeling better with this one about 16 weeks or so, the vomiting stopped a little while later, but it's started again
Bring on the Cyclazine and Zofran!
