Topic: Test Accuracy? Posted: 02 August 2012 at 4:49pm |
Just wondering, I bought tests from tryingtoconceive.co.nz and I'm wondering how accurate they are...
Has anyone used them and got accurate results?
I'm usually super regular, but I'm now 4 days late and I've been a bit impatient (hence the name LOL) and I tested when AF was due, got a BFN. Then tested yesterday and still a BFN.
So I'm really confused.
Every time I feel 'warm' down there I am rushing to the darn bathroom thinking oh yeah here she is and it's nothing... but with two BFN's I'm totally confused.
If the tests are neg, then I'm not preggy, but where is AF? And why is she making my life miserable as I'm sticking so close to bathrooms it's ridiculous!
I even wore a sanitary pad to the movies the other night for our date night as I though the witch would totally show up half way through it!!!!
So confused.....

Hi Lilmissimpatient,
Do you know when you ovulated? Sometimes we ov later than expected hence later AF.
And often you hear of people taking a bit longer to a BFP when they're late which I hope is your situation!
Hope that's helpful. I'm no expect though so others might have a better answer for you :)

It's driving me mad! Still absolutely no sign of AF today and I've been feeling like ASS.
Headachey all day and tired! I feel like I've been hit by a bus.
Yet still a BFN this morning.
Confused much?
I actually went out and bought a different brand of HPT this afternoon.... now do I have the willpower to hold out till morning, or will I cave and test tonight?

I have this brand of tests. I had the faintest of faint BFP lines with first morning urine, a friend told me to hold the stick in the urine for 20 seconds rather than the stipulated time, I did this in the arvo of the same day and the line was heaps darker. Give that a go, good luck

Any news? I have found that the big expensive dip stick tests will usually give me a positive well before the cheapies, annoying - but it means I am more patient with testing now :)

Now on what *should* be CD6 and still nothing. No signs of AF whatsoever, but two BFN's last night.
One with the cheapy stick and I left it in for AGES. Then one with a Discover.
I am so confused and tired. I have such a busy week coming up and no clue what my freakin body is doing.

Oh what a bummer, how frustrating for you. Might be worth seeing if you can get a dr to do a blood test? Good luck.

I'm NEVER this late, never have been in my entire life, but I don't understand why I'm getting BFN's. As if I was pregnant, then surely by 5 days after AF was due I would be showing on most tests.
If I am, it's really worrying and is making me wonder if it's going to end up another m/c
At this point, I've given up on testing. I think I will go see the Dr on Monday and see if I can get a blood test. As I just don't feel right about it and by then if AF hasn't shown her face, I'll be 7 days overdue...

Oh no lilmisspatient!!!
Hopefully you get your BFP soon! It does occassionally take people a long time to get a BFP maybe your just one of them!
A blood test would give you a definite answer so might be worth doing if still not sign on Monday

I haven't been yet! I forgot I was fully booked yesterday.
But still no signs of AF other than a truly HORRIBLE dream in the early hours of this morning that I was having a MC.
I haven't pee'd yet. So I'm going to go shower and POS and if it's still neg then I'll give my GP a call and ask if I can pop in and see them this afternoon.
I'm over a week late now, SURELY it's gotta show something!

Spoke to the Dr today. I booked in and had a chat to her.
She did yet another POS (I got a BFN this morning) and it was negative for her too, so she gave me forms for bloods as she agrees it's odd.
I was too late this evening though as I couldn't get an appt till 4.30, so I'll go get them in the morning.
Hopefully will know more tomorrow.

Randomer here, just checking in to see if you've had any good news? I hope so, otherwise I hope AF hurries up so you can get on with the next round.
