Auntie sarah - That recipe is very similar to the thing mum used to do for me as a baby/toddler. I will have to ask her if it was sunlight soap as I think it might have been. It says gluggy. Is that like a jelly as that is the way mum always explains it.

First time. Glad it is clearing up. Once it has cleared keep him moisturised and any sign of it coming back get on to it quickly. It is easier to manage before it gets nasty. One dose of steroids rather than 5 days worth if you catch it early. Good luck.

Hey there

Just thought I would add this in case anyone else is interested in steroid creams.

I went to the dermatologist with my 13 year old who is on orataine for acne. He said the drug thins the skin right out and then 3 months after stopping the drug the skin will rebuild. She just has to be cautious with moisterisers and sunscreen for three months whilst it is thin. So from what I gather from him is thin skin can rebuild itself it just takes time. Orataine is far more severe than steroid cream so it should work for that too.

Hiya, just thought i would add in too, my DD has severe eczema and ive tried all the moisturisers the doc has prescribed and also spend hundreds of $$ on creams for her. The steroid cream helps and will clear it up eventually, but as soon as i stop it comes straight back.

I have a friend from the UK that has a daughter with the same thing and she gave me some Oilatum cream to try, and its the only thing that helps, all the other moisturisers make her eczema worse.   Unfortunately its unavailable here (we have Oilatum Plus which is a different cream to just plain Oilatum). I buy a big 1L pump bottle and also the Oilatum bath oil and it costs around $70 NZD to get it here including postage. So it is expensive but it really is good stuff.

We also get a child disability allowance from WINZ for her eczema which ends up covering the cost of the creams and stuff i have to buy her since nothing on prescription works.

Well he was interesting. Gave me a list of things not to eat

And some special cream as well as an allergy medicine. I am reluctant to try the medicine as I think he is so young for anti allergy stuff.

Argh so not sure what to do!
