as far as i know it is safe to have "Special Cuddles" thru out your pregnancy. However if you are worried about it then stay away from it.

with my first pregnancy I had really bad bleeding and was told to stay away from it ....and we did and DD is fine.

This time We stayed away from it as we didnt wanna take any chances...its only after 12 weeks that we even tgought about it!! Talk to your MW and see what she says!

I think the general advice is that if everything's going OK (no bleeding), then it's OK. We started again at about 6 weeks, but for the first trimester, I was always paranoid about hurting the baby and didn't really enjoy it. I'd run to the loo afterward to make sure I wasn't bleeding . But if you're nervous, then wait.

It's usually ok. I've had 5 m/c's and the doc told me it would be fine, and it has been. They said that special cuddles can't usually cause a m/c but if it's going to happen anyway it cause sometimes hurry it up. They say not to do it if it's painful or causes fresh bright red blood(some bleeding can be normal afterwards) or if your cervix are weak and likely to open if irritated.

I was told to just take things slowly and gently and only do what I was comfortable.
And as my really embarrassing (40+ year old) midwife said to me "if he wants it that much he has two hands he can do it himself!!"

I totally understand where you are coming from and we kinda held off for the first 12 weeks. It was only partly due to paranoia and mostly due to me not feeling at all like it.  thankfully we are back on the horse so to speak.

With my first pregnancy I freaked out when I got bleeding following "special cuddles" so this time around I wouldnt let DH go deep at all so as not to irritate the cervix.  But that was just to stop panic attacks.

I'm sure you would be fine.

Teehee, lol, from experience, it is safe during pregnancy unless your mw says otherwise. If you are worried about a mc, I would suggest taking it slowely and gently. I wouldnt worry about it - also your libido may slightly increase during second trimester so make the most of it before tummy gets in the way.

Because I have a high-risk pregnancy (premature labour) I have been told by obstetrician to avoid intimate relations in the third trimester -- unless I want to bring on labour - and then she highly recommends it!

It's also been playing on my mind. I had a LLeTZ last year. Got the all clear but it's always something I worry about. The chances of the cervix being compromised is pretty low but still a bit scary.

Don't really feel like it at the mo anyway. Hopefully things should go back to normal in the 2nd Tri.

When we found out we were preg (at 5wks) that's the first thing DH wanted to do to 'celebrate' and despite being very randy throughout my pregnancy my DD is fine.

If you're worried though you're not likely to enjoy it and then what's the point.  Maybe you could satisfy DH in another way *nudge nudge..wink wink* or is MS making that difficult.

I agree with the MW who said they can sort themselves out LOL

I feel like ar*se so satisfying him is the last thing on my mind. It's his fault i'm in this position. He's being very patient but all I want to do is puke, eat and sleep. The rest can wait!!
